Lisbon Debate Tommorow!
We are going to be having a Lisbon Treaty debate at 19.30 in Kane G19. Speakers will include Pat Cox, former President of the European Parliment, Declan Walsh, Toiréasa Ferris of Sinn Féin. Be sure to come along guys! :D

HOUSE MEETINGS

Legalization of Cannabis Debate - Monday 28th of September - 19.30 - Boole 3
For the inaugural meeting of the 160th Session we will debate on the whether or not cannabis should be legalized in Ireland.Our guest speakers will include Andrea Barthwell, Deputy Drug Czar under then President George W. Bush, as well as a delegation from Legalize Cannabis Ireland.

Animal Rights Debate - Monday 5th of October - 19.30 - Kane G19
In our second meeting of the year we will debate on the rights of animals in society, should we consume them for food, wear them for fashion and run our experiments on them?

COMPETITIVE

There are no competitions for the next two weeks, however sign up for Maidens, our junior debating competition is still open. We are also looking for speakers for the SOAS IV. This IV takes place in London on the 16th and 17th of October and is aimed at new speakers. We will be sending around 10 people, and we ask any interested new speakers to please sign up.

DEVELOPMENT

Development will take place every Tuesday at 19.30. Our first session will feature a guest speaker. The locations of our development sessions will be announced at the house meeting tomorrow. If you won't be able to come but are still interested then please check our site, blog, facebook etc.
Socials will take place afterward with free food for all who took part.

First Debate
The UCC Philosoph's Inaugural house meeting will take place on Monday the 28th of September in Lecture Room 3 in the Boole Basement. The topic for debate is the legalization of Cannabis in Ireland. Guest speakers include Andrea Barthwell, avid anti-cannabis speaker as well as a delegation from Legalize Cannabis Ireland. Cllr. Luke "Ming" Flanagan will also be in attendance. Be sure to come along to our first meeting which looks set to be a good a one! :D
